The Global Arts Outreach Project provides free creative workshops for young learners whose communities have often been impacted by conflict and political and socioeconomic instability. The project aims to build and promote empowering creative programs for young people.
By working with schools, orphanages and community service providers, the Global Arts Outreach Project hopes to ensure that each program delivered will meet the needs of the young people in their particular community. It is in its infancy and is currently a self funded project, based in Asia. It is due to the generosity of the organisations with which the Global Arts Outreach Project has the pleasure to work with, that it is able to deliver its workshops and continue to push towards developing positive cultural connections, and a sense of possibility and empowerment through the arts, beyond economic, religious and political divisions.
Global Arts Outreach Project believes that we can harness the power of art as a platform for building confidence and broadening perspectives; that by promoting positive expressive environments, we can make new discoveries about ourselves, and others, that possibilities can open up, having a positive impact on community and society as a whole.
‘We want to use art as a way to offer a sense of empowerment and renewal to young individuals of all cultural and religious backgrounds, in their communities. To be able to creatively reach out to one another.
The sharing of culture and art is a powerful vehicle for us to connect to our own innate strength, collectively and as individuals; we can empower community together, enriching one another by sharing, learning and growing together as part of a global classroom.’
